Fighting For Fitness provides a haven away from the busy rush of large impersonal gyms and offers bespoke one-to-one personal fitness training in a relaxed and professional environment. A member of the Fighting for Fitness team welcomes each new client with a free personalised initial consultation which not only provides an overview of the training offered and the different packages available, but also gives clients the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. This is the first step in determining personal goals and current state of health and fitness and paves the way for future training at the gym. Each Fighting for Fitness team member aims to give their clients the opportunity to switch off from their daily distractions, in a supportive and professional atmosphere, and focus all their energies into reaching their fitness goals and overcoming any training challenges.

Weight Loss and Body Fat Reduction
  • Weight Loss & Body Fat Reduction

I have helped many people to lose a great deal of weight. I prefer to speak in terms of "fat loss" rather than "weight loss". The objective should be to change your body composition so that you have less fat and more muscle.

As muscle weighs more than fat per cubic measurement weight loss alone should not be the sole measure of your success. The important results should be how your body looks, how your clothes fit, and how you feel.

Toning and Building Muscle

A client will often specify that he or she wishes to either "tone" or "build" muscle.

More often than not women look to "tone" while men look to "build". By incorporating weight training (resistance training) techniques I can help you to tone or build muscle in order to improve the shape of your body.

Cardiovascular conditioning
  • Cardiovascular conditioning

Aerobic exercise will be at the core of any weight loss/fat loss program. Aerobic activity is often termed cardiovascular exercise. I encourage all of my clients to perform varying degrees of cardio-vascular training.

The goal here is usually to work in the range of 60-80% of maximum heart rate for 20-30 minutes three times a week. The benefits are numerous and include improved circulation and heart health as well as weight loss.

Many people with back injuries may be told to increase their core strength. The added benefits can also include improved balance and stability, better posture as well as more toned abdominal muscles.

Every client is encouraged to work on their flexibility in an aim to prevent injury and improve mobility.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation

After physiotherapy or hospital treatment, mobility and strengthening work is regularly required to return an individual to full health.

I look to take over where a Physiotherapist leaves off. I have successfully helped to treat many injuries especially those affecting the knee, hip, shoulder and back. Each case is unique, please feel free to call or email to discuss your concerns.

Fighting For Fitness Ltd is currently located in the heart of the South Bucks countryside. Only a few minutes drive from Beaconsfield, Burnham, Bourne End, Maidenhead and High Wycombe. The M40, M4 and M25 motorways are all very local making it easy to access whether on the way to or from work, or after dropping the kids off at school.

DANNY MAKA

Danny Maka qualified as an Advanced Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor with Premier Global in 2006 and before launching Fighting For Fitness Ltd, he worked in a number of large gyms such as Fitness First in Jersey and London. Prior to specializing as a Personal Trainer, Danny successfully competed as an amateur boxer for 10 years before turning professional in 2008.

During his career as a Personal Trainer, Danny has worked with a wide range of clients, focusing on a variety of goals such as injury rehabilitation, sports specific training, obesity/weight loss, and fitness training for the forces, to name but a few. He brings his considerable experience in professional sports along with boundless enthusiasm and a personal drive to succeed and maintain a high level of fitness and health to every Personal Training session he runs.

Before Fighting for Fitness Ltd, Danny found that many of his regulars enjoyed every aspect of their training sessions but one; the impersonal and overwhelming atmosphere of training in a large member’s only gym. So, in order to give his clients a chance to get away from this intimidating environment, Danny began to train with some in their own homes and gardens. Whilst this overcame the issue of impersonal gyms, it provided two new challenges; the lack of the specialist equipment and the added distraction of home comforts.

Having spent some time researching how to capture the benefits of both large well equipped gyms and home training, whilst overcoming their respective challenges, Danny found a niche in the market for purely Personal Training gyms. He launched Fighting For Fitness Ltd Personal Training in 2008 with the aim of making visits to the gym less of a chore and more of an opportunity to reach goals in a fresh, positive, relaxed and professional environment.

ANDREW JOICEY

Andrew Joicey, Andrew Specialises in Boxing and Physical fitness, Classes, Group and individual PT sessions.

Boxing is a great stress buster and is an effective means of cross-training & total body workout. It combines both aerobic & anaerobic work and ensures a diverse workout, but also enhances sports specific senses, including hand-eye co-ordination, balance, endurance & speed. It works the entire body to the maximum, toning and sculpting all the muscles and provides fantastic weight loss results. This is a seriously fun way to shed the pounds.

“I believe that if you want to succeed and hit your fitness goals you need to utilise every moment in the gym to the best of your ability, without a plan this can’t be done. It’s my job to create the plan and your job to get the results".

Andrew Represented the Dale youth amateur Boxing club, where he was fortunate enough to share the gym with many talented lads from all walks of life (George Groves and James De-gale). Andrew had a short amateur career where he won the London Novice 60kg ABA title, runner up in Las Vegas-London VS America Box off, and Gold medalist at the HSK Box cup in Denmark.

Daisy Venn

Daisy is an Advanced Level 3 Personal Trainer and Nutritional Advisor with over 8 years experience in the health and fitness industry. Since having two children herself, she has worked to gain specialist qualifications in Pre and Post Natal training to offer other parents the opportunity to maintain their health and fitness throughout pregnancy and in the post natal period.

Daisy has personal experience of a wide range of sports from international level show jumping and skiing; she is renowned for her open minded approach to exercise which allows her to work with different dynamics of clientele. Her understanding and versatility is what makes her unique as a trainer alongside sharing a particular passion with clients who require sports specific training or injury rehabilitation.

JON Holmans

I have been a personal trainer for the past 14 years working 5 years for one of London’s biggest health clubs in west London becoming the busiest trainer nationwide, with all that experience and hundreds of thousands of training sessions under my belt I feel I am at the peak of my profession.

Now based in both Maida Vale and Buckinghamshire I train a wide range of clients from well-known celebrities, busy business men and women plus OAP’s all benefitting from the constantly varied training programs. I am a firm believer that training should be challenging, specific to your needs and most importantly in my eyes enjoyable! Training can be hard and sometimes tedious so if you enjoy the training and look forward to coming back you are half way there and more likely to get the results you crave.

At the age of 15 I ran my first 10k race and was instantly hooked, I joined Canterbury running club and quickly achieved success with great coaching. I won road, track and cross country races competing for my county and gaining national qualifying times.

My proudest moments was becoming Kent champion at 10k with a personal best of 30 minutes plus competing abroad in an international field finishing in the top ten. I still enjoy running and even though I do not compete anymore I can still run a 15 minute 5k on the treadmill.

I’ve recently qualified as a Crossfit instructor and I have enjoyed the variety it’s given my training, learning new movements especially the Olympic lifts and the Gymnastic rings. I can often be found with a bar in my hands practicing in-between clients.
